I HAVE WIN 7 WITH 1 GB RAM.....
I installed yesterday only. When i open task manager performance tab, it shows cached 320 MB,
Available 360 MB n free 30 MB which comes nearly equal to to 700 MB.
Where does the rest of memory go n how to get it back?
Plz help...!!!

The rest is being used by the system. The system needs to use memory and Cached, Available and Free all refer to memory that currently isn't being utilized by the system.

1Gb memory is the minimum for Windows 7. It works, but if you get anything of a heavier load, you get trouble.
