Not a real answer to your question but I'll offer that I've used EaseUS Idoo backup and recovery ever since I started testing Windows 10 and I've made over 20 backups and restored about 10 times and it's worked perfectly every time.
It's super easy to use and it's free!
It really only takes a few clicks to make or restore a backup and creates its own recovery DVD.
You will need to save the recovery files on a separate partition or external hard drive.
I created a partition that's just for my backup files.
