A few of us over at MSFN use Server 2012 security-only updates to patch Windows 8 until October 2023. However .....

As of July 2021, all of the new security only updates for Server 2012 (including KB5004294 and KB5004960) now will remove the Adobe Flash Component from Windows 8. I enjoy playing some locally run flash games like YetiSports, so this is a deal breaker for me. For those interested, I'll keep you posted on my next course of action.

Adobe updated flash in addition to the removal of flash so flash won't work even if you don't remove it. Flash is dead I'd suggest moving on and find some different games.

Do I understand correctly that the update for October for Server 2012 (KB5006732) and for 8.1 does NOT have the Flash removal component?

I use the built in ActiveX flash for LOCALLY installed Flash games likes Yeti Sports. I don't use Flash on the web.

I'm not worried about Adobe own redistribution for NPAPI - just the Flash built in to Windows 8.
