I think since Windows 7, the system allowed the user to mount .iso images without additional software.
Now, due the fact that other image formats can compress a lot better, I curious if there is a way to add the possibility to Windows 10 to mount other images than .iso, without installing additional software.
( I mean kind of like it was possible to ad a Video codec in earlier versions ).

I forgot to mention Windows supports IMG too, other than that you will need some third party tool to mount anything else. MDF, CUE, CCU or NRG

Not without either writing your own code or using a tool that can read them no.
