Windows 7 nos.exe virus has stopped my programs from starting

After removing a virus called nos.exe, my programs have stopped working. When I boot the computer, none of my startup programs run. Checked msconfig, looks ok. Tried a system restore, no change. Any ideas.

My exe file association had been removed.got a registry mod from here http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/19449-default-file-type-associations-restore.html
