...waking from 'sleep' mode. The screen is black except for one small pixel size horizontal line on the top of the screen. If I reboot, thevideo comes back fine. Anybody seen this?

Solution
Another individual had a similar issue and the problem was that the display resolution went out of frequency and left a 1 pixel line on the top of his display. Unfortunately this is another example of why you should never use sleep or hibernate modes on your computer. I would just stay away from them as they are no where near a hundred percent effective.
