Hello, the thumbnail cache keeps deleting itself.

I tried some things but did solve the problem.

My system version is 1709.

The issue happened after I upgraded to 1709.
It seems that the deletion takes place every 24h.

I upgraded to 1709.
This may possibly be your problem.

Upgrading as your probably aware can introduce a few bugs and ideally it's best if you can perform a clean install.
