Hi All
i just bought a Lan Cable to make a network between my desktop and laptop
so i can make a file transfer between them, and play games over lan

My Desktop has Windows 7 32x-Bit
My Laptop has Windows 7 64x-Bit

i plug it in both of them
and i putted these IPs:
Desktop:
192.168.1.1
255.255.255.0
192.168.1.2
via TCP/Ip v4

Laptop:
192.168.1.2
255.255.255.0
192.168.1.1

they identified each other

but my laptop give me a yellow "!" mark
and it can't access my desktop
and didn't have a internet too..

can anybody help me please ?

thanks in advance

sounds like you need a cross-over wire rather than regular wire, unless you have a switch-hub between them. In addition to this from the IP range you specified you are trying to create a internet share, you would need the another network device thats connected to desktop for the internet as well and check the IP range isnt already used.
