i use Corel and have tried a few others. One of the best seems to be Adobe Premiere and After Effects, but they're way too beyond my skill level.

I use Windows Movie Maker 2.1 from Windows XP. Which I have installed on both Windows 7 and Windows 8 by copying the program files over from XP. the only disadvantage is that you have to also have Windows Movie Maker 2.6 installed for MM 2.1 to run on Windows Vista 7 and 8, in order for the webcam feature to work,but it does though.That is the webcam feature on MM 2.1 is working.
I also have Windows Movie Maker 6 on my Windows 7 and 8 which is also working. So both Windows Movie Makes work on Windows 7 and 8. The only issue I am having is with Movie Makers 2.1 and 2.6 on Windows 8 and 8.1 where the titles feature is not working. If anyone knows how to fix it please let me know. Though apart from that both Movie Maker 2.1 and 2.6 are working on Windows 8/8.1.
