📎 AI Summary:
The original poster is asking if Windows 8.1 can natively support creating hotkeys for frequently used phrases like emails and addresses or if they need third-party software. The responses confirm that Windows does not have this feature built-in and recommend third-party programs such as AutoHotkey and Hotkeyz for this purpose. Overall, the consensus is that external programs are necessary to achieve this functionality.

Hi: I am not sure if what I want to do is possible, but here goes: I would like to be able to create hotkeys within Win 8.1 with frequently used phrases, i.e., email address, postal address, name, and so on...Is it possible to do this within Windows or do I need an external program? If so, could you recommend a good one? Thanks for your help...

I'm pretty sure you need a 3rd party program for that. I'd recommend Autohotkey: Link Removed

yup, can't agree more, you can use the hotkey manager for Windows - AutoHotKey to customize your desired hotkeys, or you can use Hotkeyz, which is a bit a more traditional.
