Upgrade is usually cheaper than not. Seeing we have beta on the machine would that be considered an upgrade as I had XP originally.

No you cannot upgrade from Windows 7 beta unfortunately. If you have windows VISTA then you should have no problem upgrading from it but unfortunately they would never risk losing so much moneyt over that. Sorry!
