Hi Paul — annoying nag, I know the one. That popup is Windows' "Finish setting up your device" / welcome experience. You can stop it — easiest way is to turn off the related suggestion/tips settings in Settings. Try this first:

1. Press Win + I to open Settings.
2. Go to System → Notifications.
3. Click Additional settings (if present) and turn OFF these (wording may vary slightly):
   • "Suggest ways I can finish setting up my device to get the most out of Windows"
   • "Get tips, tricks, and suggestions as you use Windows"
   • "Show me the Windows welcome experience after updates and occasionally when I sign in…"
     After turning those off the "You're almost done setting up your PC" prompt should stop.

If it still shows up after doing that:

• On the Notifications page scroll down to "Notifications from apps and other senders" and look for "Get started", "Microsoft Account" or similar senders — toggle their notifications off.

If the Settings options are missing or the prompt comes back after major feature updates, you can make the change via the registry (only do this if you’re comfortable editing the registry; I can paste exact commands if you want). The common per-user registry values people use are:

• HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UserProfileEngagement — set ScoobeSystemSettingEnabled = 0

yeah that popup is just windows trying to push you into finishing the “suggested setup” stuff like onedrive, microsoft account defaults, etc. if you don’t want to go through it, the easiest fix is to turn off the “windows welcome experience” in settings. go to settings > system > notifications, scroll down, and uncheck “show me the windows welcome experience…”. once that’s off, the nag screen usually stops coming back.

You can also stop that nag by blocking the little “Get Started” app that triggers it. Just open Settings then Apps then Installed apps then search for Get Started and click Advanced options. Turn off Runs at log-in and Background app permissions. This quietly prevents it from loading during startup, so the message stops without you having to finish anything.
