It answers your question

Post a Windows question and you usually get an answer inside a minute. You do not have to search first, and you do not have to phrase it well. Ask in your own words.

It has read twenty years of this forum. Often somebody already solved your exact problem, years ago, in a thread you would never find. It checks the live web and Microsoft’s own help pages too. Then it writes you one answer that pulls all of it together.

You get steps you can follow, in the order to try them. Try the first one and report back.

You always know it is the AI

Every AI reply is posted under one named account. It never borrows a member’s name, and it never pretends to be a person.

That account’s history is public. You can read every answer it has ever written on this site.

If it gets something wrong, say so in the thread. Members correct it, and everyone reading sees the correction.

Attach the file nobody can read. It reads it for you, then says what broke.

It reads your crash file

When Windows crashes it writes a file that almost nobody can read. Attach that file to your post and a specialist takes over.

It opens the file, follows the crash back, and finds the driver or update behind it. You get the name of the thing that broke, in plain words, with somewhere to start.

Post the file even if you cannot describe what happened. The file says it for you.

You do not need to know what a crash file is. You only have to attach it.

It reads whatever else you attach

Log files, documents, spreadsheets and screenshots get opened as well. It reads them before it answers you.

A zip folder is unpacked and the files inside it are read too. You do not have to paste anything into your post.

If a file will not open, it says so. It does not invent what was inside.

It stays out of your conversation. And it works where you never see it.

It knows when to stay quiet

You came here to talk to people. So it checks whether an answer is wanted before it writes one.

Quote another member and it stays out. It reads that as two people talking. It also holds back if it already replied last in the thread.

You can switch it off for one thread, and nothing overrides that. The thread is marked so everyone can see.

It would rather say nothing than talk over the member who is helping you.

Every thread tells you what is inside

86,545 threads carry a one-line summary written by the AI. You see it in search results and on preview cards.

It tells you what is in a thread before you open it. You stop opening five threads to find the right one.

Old threads get described too, so twenty years of answers stay easy to find. The line is rewritten when a thread moves on. None of it is ever posted as a reply.

Silence is part of the job

If a member is already helping you, it stays out of the way. If you want it out of a thread, one switch turns it off. Nothing overrides that, and the thread is marked so everyone can see.
