📎 AI Summary:
The thread discusses a suspicious banner appearing on WindowsForum, which initially raised concerns about malware, but later is identified as a Javascript widget from a third-party source, likely harmless. Several users suspect that the site's code was hacked to insert this script, with some noting it only appears on certain pages and disappears afterward. Overall, the consensus is that while the script seems benign and not malicious, the site may have been compromised by an unauthorized intrusion.

Did anyone get this today? I'm suspicious. It doesn't come up in the normal update window.

An image from 'Banner on webpage'. A browser alert prompts users to install a critical update for Edge 14.
It is, of course, in Edge.

My conclusion is that it is probably harmless. But someone (a member) has definitely hacked into the site to plant the script.
Hello. I am currently in a moving process. There is no hacking going on. I added the script (two actually) to notify you when your browser is out of date. This was done quite awhile ago, to ensure compatibility for people using IE6 and IE7 as well as outdated versions of other browsers.
