Surprisingly, I like the new look. It is sleek and efficient, although the magnification effect on the ads on the right-hand corner is somewhat annoying. I can see how it will blend in well with, dare I say, Windows 8. I appreciate the time and effort that was put into outlook.com. It looks to be a worthy successor to Hotmail, although I am of rare breed when I confess that I remember when Hotmail was acquired by Microsoft. I was none-too-pleased at the time, but that was years ago, and this looks like an advancement from the Live system thus far.
