Uncertainty could turn Windows 8 into the next Vista
Sales of Windows 8 PCs are well below Microsoft’s internal projections and have been described inside the company as disappointing. But here’s the catch: The software giant blames the slow start on lackluster PC maker designs and...

I'm helping an older gentleman with his computer. He is getting BSOD's every once in a while. I have done a system restore, scanned for virus, run Advanced System Care 5 (free), and ran the startup repair utility it asked for after recovering from a crash. It's been running alright for a few...

Have been getting BSODs more and more frequently over the last week. Can't think of anything special that triggered the behaviour though. It mostly happens when the computer idles and I'm doing other stuff, and doesn't seem to relate to computer load etc.
Did a bit of digging myself and used...

Hello,
I've recently been experiencing a lot of BSODs. These have had a number of different stop codes and I haven't had any luck tracking them down.
I am attaching a few minidump files. I attempted to analyze these myself using windbg but didn't get anywhere. I would really appreciate it if...
Hi, I had read in another thread to save what was in the minidump folder to a zip for somebody to analyse and see what the reason was for the unexpected shutdown. I hope that I did it right and somebody is able to help. Thanks in advance
Hey guys,
i recently had a BSOD and wondered if you could help me with that problem.
The error was a 0x19 and also said BAD_POOL_HEADER.
It seams to be some kind of memory error, but I couldn't find any errors with the programs (chkdsk, memtest) i used.

Nomura analyst Rick Sherlund has a new note out in which he describes Windows 8's straddling of the keyboard-and-mouse and touch-centric worlds as "trying to be cool like Apple while being functional like a nerd." He gives his thoughts on the opinion -- growing louder in recent days -- that...
Hi!
I have tried to fix my blue screen problem for a couple of months now by surfing the net, gathering information in fine forums like this one. At one time i thought I had solved the problem when I found and replaced a bad RAM device. It worked for a while and life was great. But then the...
