is there a way to put an icon for (My) Computer on the task bar instead of pinned to explorer? or is there a way to change the default location of the explorer icon?
I don't know if I'm being dim and missed a switch or something but I can't seem to arrange my windows on the desktop anymore so that they appear where I need them when opened ?
this is important to me as I am used to working in My documents and My computer simultaneously with those two...

Upgraded from Vista Premium a few days ago, and Windows 7 generally seems to work fine apart from a problem with Windows Explorer crashing everytime I try and access Control Panel, My Computer, Documents etc from the start menu. It then restarts the desktop and does not open the file at all.

Since the Libraries function is able to be pinned onto the taskbar, I was wondering if anyone has managed to pin the my computer link onto it.

I have a new laptop with Vista and a 4 pin firewire slot. I am connecting a scanner and the software is not recoginzing that a scanner is present. I can not find the scanner on the My Computer page. Should I if the connection is working? If not there, does that indicate anything?
