As I age, I"m a couple of weeks short of 86 now, I get inundated with scam emails.
Now I'm not just getting ones that say they are from Amazon, my bank, UPS, other retailers, and payment services they are claiming to be from the Social Security!
The first thing I do is look at the address...
Here is another real phishing email. This one purporting to be from PayPal.
Lets dig in...
(Orange) we have typos and grammatical errors
(1) Again we have a weird email address from @paypap-us.com. This is highly unlikely owned by PayPal.
(2) This email is probably BCC'd to a bunch of users...
If I ask Google how many computer companies are a certain nationality, a bit later I get an email regarding that topic. Does that mean I am being monitored? Coincidentally, I am also getting tons of spam.
It is too much of a coincidence that it is by chance.
I received a new to me email message with an attached image file.
I didn't click on the image and researched the senders address.

I entered the stars instead of the area code. This seems to be a new scam, at least I've not run into it before.
Just a warning, and I was...
Lately when I receive an email from a trusted source and I click on the attachment included, it loads tons of attachments, from where I am not sure. There are many that I have received and no longer have and I think some are from the person sending the email. How can I stop this from happening...
Hello,
I am getting my share of emails from those wanting to sell me a product or service. Is there a way to stop it? If I click on unsubscribe, it seems I get more of these solicitations. I certainly would like to know who is responsible for giving out my email address.

Yesterday I posted a question regarding charging mp3 player on a pc that is turned off. I didn't get an answer to that but did get one from something called "creative resume writing" or something like that. I dumped it but thought I'd let admin know.
I'm hoping someone can help me - starting today, every time I try to access my VPN, exactly 5 minutes later I get a BSOD, with the driver irql not less or equal, and the problem is the tcpip.sys. It won't access the VPN (can't recall exactly what the message is - a long message in yellow), but...

Hello all,
I accidently listed Windows 10 forum as spam on my email account. The message on my account says to contact support. But the contact link does not work. Is there an alternate way to contact support?

Hello,
I'm using SmarterMail on Windows Server 2008.
I changed the SMTP relay from "Nobody" to "Only local users" and in last 2 days I had a large number of outgoing spam messages sent from my server (close to 6.000).
This has happened in the past, and setting SMTP relay back to "Nobody" has...
Many think that Sherlock Holmes is the best detective ever introduced, and many think James Bond is the best secret agent introduced, but woe to you, the smartest is the smart one, Maxwell Smart, code name Agent 86 in the secret service called Control. In constant fight against Chaos he has...
I have been spotting spams very regularly.
One fact to be certain is ....... the spam post is also always the first post by the "new" member/spammer.
In some forums, the FIRST post of a new member does not get posted automatically until it is "approved" by moderation.
This definitely will stop...
Unfortunately Windowsforum.com suffered an extreme spam event at the weekend. The spammer initially struck Friday by managing to create a large number of false accounts. These accounts went unnoticed until Sunday by which time every account had profile posts showing.
As soon as they were...

Whatever the Profile Post is meant to be, it seems to have been misused.
Spammers had been using it to post spams, and now new members are using it to post computer questions.
Perhaps, management will consider adding a line at the profile box to explain to new members what it is NOT meant for?
