surge protectors

Is it ok plugging multi-taps in surge protectors, generally speaking? I think there may be a problem in the long term use, of doing it the other way, i.e. plugging surge protectors INTO multi-taps, but is there a problem plugging in multi-taps into surge protectors? To be specific, I don't...
