Hello !
I have a really wired problem. If I right-click->properties LocalDiskC it says 48GB used. If I open LocalDiskC and select everything than right-click->properties them I get 38GB size on disk. Can someone please tell me what are the rest 10GB occupied by ?

Anticipated thanks.

Hi,
your space is probably taken up by system restore files and/or temporary files created by your browser or pc as it's used on a day to day basis. Open the 'Run' app and type in sysdm.cpl and press Enter. Look across the top for 'System Protection' and click that. If you click on the 'Configure' button you can see how much space has been given over to the system restore set up. If need be reduce it although be aware you'll probably lose some restore points.
To be honest your HDD is too full. Ideally you want to leave around 25% of the drive free for it to work effectively. You've probably noticed your machine isn't running as quick as it was? That will be down to the HDD and lack of space. Try this app, it's free and will remove your temporary files as well as empty the recycle bin:

No, my computer isn't running slow. I just installed Windows 2 days ago on my new PC, so I doubt that I have 10GB of temporary files. And to sum it up I really don't think that is the problem. Take a look at my 'System Protection LocalDiskC'. By default, recovery files was on 0 bytes.

It could be the pagefile and hiberfil files. If you want them to show on the drive, you need to go to the View Options in Explorer and unhide the System Protected files. They may be around 6-8 GB each, depending possibly how much memory you have on your machine.

Thank you ! Now I finally understand where's the missing 10GB. I was beginning to think that my SSD is broken. Thank you !
