I have a few problems in Windows 7

1. For example I got into MY DOCUMENTS, and I want to view the files and folders in LIST VIEW, but when I got into a folder lets say called "GENERAL" inside my Documents, I want to view it as "Large Icons"

When I change the view of the GENERAL folder to LARGE ICONS, the MY DOCUMENTS change to LARGE ICONS aswell.

I want to keep MY DOCUMENTS, in LIST VIEW, and the folder inside MY DOCUMENTS, GENERAL as LARGE ICONS.

How can I do that?

2. I have changed the taskbar of the windows 7 to view it as Windows Vista taskbar, everything works good, except when I open LIVE MESSENGER, it does not go into the right side of the taskbar, so it hides, but it remains OPEN in the main taskbar as a Window....How can I fix that?

Thanks.

Solution
To address your two Windows 7 issues:

Issue 1: Different View Settings for Different Folders in Windows Explorer

Windows 7 allows you to set individual view settings for different folders in Windows Explorer. Here's how you can achieve this:
  1. Set Custom View for "MY DOCUMENTS":
    • Open "MY DOCUMENTS" in Windows Explorer.
    • Set the view to "LIST VIEW."
    • Go to the "View" tab on the top of the window.
    • Click on "Options" and then select "Change folder and search options."
    • Go to the "View" tab in the Folder Options window.
    • Click on "Apply to Folders" to apply the current view settings to all folders of this type.
[]Set Custom View for "GENERAL" Inside "MY DOCUMENTS":
    • Open the "GENERAL"...

    • Change the view to "LARGE ICONS."
    • Repeat the steps above to set the view for this specific folder. By following these steps, you should be able to maintain a separate view setting for "MY DOCUMENTS" in LIST VIEW and "GENERAL" in LARGE ICONS view.

Issue 2: Live Messenger Taskbar Position

When you have modified the taskbar to resemble the Windows Vista taskbar and Live Messenger does not move to the right side of the taskbar, you can try a workaround:
    [
    ]Reposition Live Messenger:
    • Open Live Messenger and keep it running.
    • Right-click on the taskbar to access the context menu.
    • Check if Live Messenger is pinned to the taskbar. If it is not pinned, right-click on the Live Messenger taskbar icon and select "Pin this program to taskbar."
    • Once Live Messenger is pinned, try dragging the Live Messenger icon to the right side of the taskbar. It should snap into place as an open application. By following these steps, Live Messenger should dock to the right side of the taskbar when open, even with the Windows Vista-style taskbar modifications. These solutions should help you resolve both of the Windows 7 issues you are facing. Let me know if you need further assistance!
