Windows 7 a phone call from windows team

Hi
i recieved a phone call, lady said she is from windows support center and my pc is sending error messages and its downloading some files without my permission that will effect my pc. she asked me to start my pc and she will tell me how to fix it, call was dropped and she did not call me again.
i think it was a dodgy call, i wanna ask do windows people make calls like this ?

It's gotta be a scam, how would she know what your computers downloading? I doubt MS would call for something like that.

If they started to call i doubt they will run out of employees. Just be glad you didn't follow the instructions that could cause lot of trouble.

This is a definite scam. Microsoft does not contact you this way and these guys are just after your money. I'm just glad you were savvy enough not to fall for it..
