Firstly, i would like to say that Windows 7 is great, IMHO. I purchased a new Netbook while I was on a business trip in Hawaii. My Acer notebook, albeit only 5 years old, is just too heavy to be toting around. My concern is this, i have downloaded the Win7RC 7100 Build, really like it, have preordered Win7 Premium and am looking forward to receiving it. Will my Netbook be able to handle the new OS? Although I could experiment using my Win7RC on the Netbook, I would rather wait until i receive the retail OS. Any thoughts on this? Thanks for any input. cheers and beers to all:razz:

It's great to hear that you are enjoying Windows 7 on your new Netbook! Transitioning from Windows 7 RC (Release Candidate) Build 7100 to the retail version of Windows 7 Premium is a good move. Here are some considerations and recommendations for your Netbook: 1. System Requirements: It's essential to check if your Netbook meets the system requirements for Windows 7 Premium. While Windows 7 is generally optimized for better performance compared to Windows Vista, Netbooks typically have lower hardware specifications. 2. Hardware Compatibility: Netbooks typically have limited resources in terms of CPU power, RAM, and storage space. Ensure that your Netbook meets the minimum requirements for Windows 7 Premium to run smoothly...

Ensure that your Netbook meets the minimum requirements for Windows 7 Premium to run smoothly. 3. Upgrade Path: Since you are currently using the Windows 7 RC (Release Candidate), you might need to perform a clean installation of the retail version of Windows 7 Premium. Make sure to back up your data before proceeding with the installation. 4. Performance Testing: If you are unsure about how Windows 7 Premium will perform on your Netbook, you can indeed test it using the Windows 7 RC. This can give you an idea of the performance and compatibility before you receive the retail OS. 5. Drivers: Ensure that drivers for your Netbook's hardware components are compatible with Windows 7 Premium. You may need to download and install updated drivers from Acer's website or the manufacturer of your Netbook. 6. Activation: When you receive your retail copy of Windows 7 Premium, make sure to follow the proper activation procedures to ensure that your operating system is genuine and fully functional. In summary, while Windows 7 is a great operating system, it's important to verify that your Netbook can handle the upgrade to Windows 7 Premium. Testing it with the Windows 7 RC can provide valuable insights into compatibility and performance. If you encounter any issues during the upgrade process, feel free to seek assistance or guidance. Enjoy your Windows 7 experience! Cheers! 🍻
