I just had my computer repaired and the technician put in Windows 10 Pro. I get a message saying to go to settings to activate windows. I do not have a product key. The technician said it will kick in in 3 to 4 days. I asked him if this was a legal installation and he said he bought it at Best Buy. But I can't activate it. Am I being scammed?

Probably. They don't "kick in", they do activate when you click activate.
Run the command slmgr /dlv and post a screenshot.

Thank you. I got my money back from the guy who scammed me and brought it to another repair person. My computer is running like a charm now.

Forgoing activation for the most part will not impede the use of Windows; however, you will get a very limited set up updates and security patches which is a very bad idea.
