I have a running Win 2012R2 Active Directory server. Call it DC1
I just built a Win 2019 server that was added to the domain and promoted to AD server. This one is DC2
I ran "Move-ADDirectoryServerOperationMasterRole" to the new server and running "netdom query fsmo", I get
Schema master DC2.ME.COM
Domain naming master DC2.ME.COM
PDC DC2.ME.COM
RID pool manager DC2.ME.COM
Infrastructure master DC2.ME.COM
and AD works fine - users and computers, Sites and Services, etc.
As soon as I disconnect the old DC1 from the network, all of this stops working - even the command "netdom query fsmo" times out and I get " netdom query fsmo
The RPC server is unavailable.
The command failed to complete successfully."
Can someone tell me what I am missing?
TIA.
