Windows 7 Administrator Permissiion Problem

As far as I know I have full administrative privileges and UAC is off. I am the sole user and this is the only account. I tried to install a new version of VMware Stand Alone Converter. I right clicked and ran as administrator. It asked about removing old version and I checked OK. It runs and pops up a box at end with this fault
Error 1326.Error getting file security:

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. This is the first software I've ever had a problem with. Is this a Windows problem or a VMware problem? Does VMwae Workstation need admin privileges even though it's a separate program?

The VMware site isn't the easiest to find stuff on. After a lot of searching it looks like the Stand Alone Converter is not stand alone but more of a plugin for some of their other software.
