Hi,

While trying to install windows 7 beta that downloaded from microsoft-windows-7 site and burn into DVD

I tried to install it on Laptop ACER ASPIRE that over the system requirment for windows 7.

The boot was ok - but after pressing the "INSTALL NOW" button. after about 2-3 minutes a problem was accured:

"a required cd/dvd drive device is missing".

I also burn the disc twice and still the same error message.

I had problems with the install from the DVD. I just installed vista x64 and then ran the setup from within windows, only choosing a clean install. It works fine and isnt an upgrade as such, it just renames your windows to windows.old and moves your user folder and prog files into it as a backup.

OH, I hear you one that one.

I tried 4 tomes to build the iso image onto cheap DVD's (which had always worked in the past)

I downloaded it again, and chose a Fuji-Film DVD and the install went perfectly.

Look over this thread:
