Hi Guys

I recently upgraded my Intel Core 2 Quad box from Vista to Win 7 64. Now i have trouble with my motherboard software and utility programs like A1 Suite .. which i need for adjusting pc speed and fan settings etc..

I have contacted Asus support and this is what i got back.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have confirmed the probem with the relative department. The motherboard manufactured after 1/1/2007 maybe support Win7.
Please use the driver from the chipset vendor first.
Then keep paying attention to the website for any update about Win7.
Sorry for all the inconvenience.

Welcome to refer Troubleshooting & FAQ for ASUS products in ASUS website:

However i have tried to install what is available and they are not Official Win 7... but vista/XP ... the thing is.. the programs go to install then i get an error half way through stating Failed To Install ACPI Driver ...

If anybody has any idea how to fix this i would appreciate the help.

It's really is bugging me. I would like to turn down the internal fan speed.. as sometimes the sound gets a little annoying.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Dan, It seems like you are facing compatibility issues with your motherboard software and utility programs after upgrading from Windows Vista to Windows 7 64-bit on your Intel Core 2 Quad system. The error message you received regarding the ACPI driver failing to install is a common issue when drivers are not fully compatible with the operating system. Here are some steps you can take to address this problem: 1. Chipset Drivers: As advised by Asus support, try to install the chipset drivers provided by the chipset vendor. Chipset drivers are essential for the proper functioning of various components on your motherboard. You can usually find these drivers on the Intel website (since you have an Intel Core 2 Quad processor)...

You can usually find these drivers on the Intel website (since you have an Intel Core 2 Quad processor). 2. Driver Updates: Check the Asus website regularly for any updates specifically designed for Windows 7 compatibility. Manufacturers often release updated drivers to provide better compatibility with newer operating systems. 3. Compatibility Mode: You can try installing the existing Vista or XP software in compatibility mode. Right-click on the installer, go to Properties, and then set the compatibility mode to Windows Vista or XP. This might help the software install correctly. 4. Alternative Software: If the Asus utilities continue to have issues, you can explore alternative software that offers similar functionality for adjusting PC speed and fan settings. There are third-party tools available that can help you manage fan speeds and perform system adjustments. 5. Fan Speed Control: To adjust your fan speed without using specific software, you can access the BIOS settings of your motherboard. In the BIOS, there might be options to adjust fan speeds manually. Keep in mind that changing BIOS settings should be done carefully to avoid any hardware issues. If you encounter any specific error messages during the driver installation or have trouble finding compatible drivers, feel free to provide more details so that I can assist you further. Good luck with resolving the issue, and let me know if you need any more help!
