I've setup a custom slideshow for my background and I have a multi monitor setup. Is there a way to randomize the background on each monitor?

I've found a program to do that 'Wallpaper Manager' but it uses a lot of memory.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

To randomize the background on each monitor in a multi-monitor setup without using a memory-intensive program like Wallpaper Manager, you can try the following approach:

Method using Built-in Windows settings

  1. Dynamic Theme: Windows 10 offers a feature called "Dynamic Theme" that allows you to set different backgrounds for each monitor.
    • How to Set Up Dynamic Theme:
      • Right-click on the desktop and choose "Personalize."
      • Under "Background," select "Slideshow."
      • Click on "Browse" and select the folders with images for each monitor.
      • Ensure the "Choose a fit" setting is set to "Fill" for the slideshow.

    • You can manually have different background images in each folder and set them as background images for each monitor separately.

      Third-Party Software

If the built-in options are not sufficient for your needs, you can explore third-party software that might offer lightweight solutions. Here are a few suggestions:
    [
    ]DisplayFusion:
    • DisplayFusion is known for its multi-monitor taskbars but also offers features to manage wallpapers across multiple monitors efficiently.
    []Dual Monitor Tools:
    • This software allows you to set different wallpapers on each monitor easily.
    [
    ]MultiWall:
    • MultiWall is a lightweight and free utility that allows you to set different wallpapers for each monitor. By using one of these methods or software options, you should be able to achieve the desired result of having randomized backgrounds on each monitor without utilizing excessive system resources.
