Hi,

I saw several videos on youtube regarding this side and it being the best place to deal with BSOD issues. I had recently had a BSOD, bad pool header. I have uploaded a mini dump.

I am running windows 7 64 bit home premium, my system is not overclocked.

Solution
SSD diagnosis is fairly simple - but not real fun to do.
Simply replace the SSD with a platter based hard drive, install Windows (and the same drivers that you installed on the SSD), and see if you have the same problems.
If not, then the SSD is most likely to blame.

We've seen a number of BSOD issues with SSD's. Here's the information that I've compiled so far:
There's not a whole bunch available to test SSD's. The "easiest" test is to remove the SSD, install a platter-based hard drive, install Windows and test for stability that way.

Here's some suggestions:
- Update the SSD's firmware to the latest available version (VERY IMPORTANT!!!)
- Update the motherboard controllers drivers to the latest available version...
Please provide this information for a more complete analysis: Link Removed

Please check the date/time/and time zone on your system. This minidump is dated 12 Dec 2012 - which hasn't happened yet.

Not much to blame in the lone minidump. I'd suspect the AICharger driver - that's the USB Charger that remains on when you turn your system off. Please uninstall it.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Ive attempted to update my creative sound driver and my computer basically crapped itself. I will do a clean install of windows 7 and i will report back.

I have did a clean reinstall of win 7. I got addtional BSOD when attempting to install my creative titanium HD sound card drivers, I did not have mini dump set up. I have set up the minidump and if i get another BSOD i will post the new log. I need to post my dixag log and my cpu-z correct?

Please follow the directions here: Link Removed
It's not just the dxdiag and cpu-z (I don't even use those) - but we need the other reports also (which I do use).

Ok, I have reinstalled windows a second time. I have managed to install all the recommened updates. Some of the failed but I ran Windows Update Trouble Shooter, their IFIX it program though their website and the Microsoft Rediness Tool. I only have 19 optional updates left, some of them fail or do not finish installing, and installing them caused one BSOD of which the minidump consists of.

My system only has my nvidia drivers installed for my 570gtx, my ASUS P8Z77V Deluxe drivers and my Samsung 830 SSD Magician Software. All this BSOD started happeening 3 days ago and now I am stopping here and waiting for further help/instruction.

I have no other software on the pc other than the said drivers, and MS security essentials and motherboard sound drivers. I am not installing my creative drivers until other issues are ruled out. I am also not intalling the ASUS AI suite II that contains the icharger.exe that you suggested caused issues.

I have attached the the W7F diagnostic logs as instructed.

It is really unfortuante that my crash free system has ended up like this

My full system specs are:

Core i7 3770k STOCK
16 GB corsair vengence blue ram 1600
Asus P8Z77V Deluxe
600w antec PSU
PNY 570gtx
CM STROM SCOUT CASE
OS drive: Samsung 830 SSD
HD 1: WD 750 GB
HD 2 WD Caviar Green 2TB
HD 3 WD 120 GB --- my old drive from pervious pc

I have also ran sfc/scannow and it said windows found curropt files but it was not able to fix some of them I have attached that log aswell.

PS: I have a odd feeling my ssd might be dying but i do not know any way to diagnose it sadly. But lets see what the logs reveal.

- Update the motherboard controllers drivers to the latest available version from the controller manufacturer (NOT the mobo manufacturer unless you can't find any on the controller manufacturer's website)
- Slow the memory (RAM) down to the next slower speed (I've only seen one person who claimed that this worked for them).
- Use any manufacturer's utilities that you may have. If you don't have any, then try this free one (I haven't used it myself): Crystal Dew World
- Update chipset and storage controller drivers to the latest available from the manufacturer of the device (not the manufacturer of the motherboard). Be sure to update ALL controllers on the motherboard!
....NOTE: Recently (Nov 2011) we had BSOD issues with the Marvell 91xx controller and an SSD. You may have to switch controllers also.
- Replace the SSD with a platter based hard drive and see if that stops the BSOD's. If it does, then it's likely that there's a problem with the SSD OR an incompatibility with your system.
It's my opinion that SSD's aren't reliable enough (with current hardware) to be used on a system that needs to work reliably. Until I see reliability I will not recommend, nor will I use, SSD's for critical applications.
06 Dec 2011 - This post tends to confirm issues with certain SSD chipsets and certain controllers - [SOLVED] cant find the cause of BSOD F4 - Tech Support Forum
29 May 2012 - The frequency of BSOD's with SSD's seems to have been decreasing over the last several months. It may be approaching time to re-evaluate my stand on their suitability for use in production systems.

I would disconnect the 3 spare hard drives while we're troubleshooting. Remove both the data and the power cables, then see if that makes any difference in how the system operates.

It appears that this is a hardware problem - with the most likely cause being the SSD. I would suggest that you follow the SSD suggestions above and then see if you can install any Windows Updates. If not, then I'd suggest trying a platter based hard drive to see if the problems recur there.

Good luck!

Solution
ok will do, did the BSOD that i posted had anything to do with the SSD? Is it possible for my windows 7 clean install to have been installed in a curropted state due to the SSD and thus no be able to download and install some of the updates?

What about my CBS log did it reveal anything?

I had this system for a 1 yeah already and never had any issues with anything regarding the SSD. I will disconnect the other HDs as advised and see if i can windows update with the new firmware and controllers.

My drive currently has the latest firmware.

My mobo is a p8z77-v and it uses ASmedia SATA HOST drivers and they are up to date, also it uses Marvell SATA 6G Driver V1.2.0.1014 and that is up to date.

This is a complicated problem. Normally I refer all serious Windows Update issues to an expert that I know. But in this case I think it's a hardware problem that's causing the issues (and he's not a "hardware" troubleshooter). I'd prefer to finish the hardware troubleshooting before referring you for Windows Update issues. Also, I'm not real well versed with CBS logs, so I generally stay away from them.

Which controller is your SSD connected to? If it is connected to the Marvell controller, please remove it and connect it to the Intel controller ports (also leave the ASMedia ports alone for now - it's easier for us to work with the Intel stuff).

All 3 of the storage controllers' drivers (Intel, ASMedia, and Marvell) date from 2011. While you may not have had problems previously, there has recently been an upsurge in problems due to older drivers. Please visit Link Removed and get the latest Rapid Storage Technology (RST) drivers for your Intel storage controller.

My thoughts here are that there is a problem with the SSD. The different tests/trials that I suggest revolve around trying to isolate the problem to the SSD (and save you the time and money of replacing parts to test these theories out).

As for the CBS file, I see issues with some fonts and some issues with .NET - but can't tell if those have been fixed or not. There's a lot of other stuff there also that I can't make sense out of.

BSOD's usually point to either drivers or hardware - and rarely point to the actual device.
It's difficult to tell from a single memory dump if a problem is hardware related or not (with the exception of those that say "hardware").

We troubleshoot BSOD's in this order:
- 3rd party (non-Windows) drivers
- hardware
- Windows

As patterns emerge in our testing, we can then focus on the specific issues. Unfortunately, the line between 3rd party drivers and hardware problems isn't very clear. Low-level drivers, compatibility problems and even malware can make errors that resemble hardware problems - so we have to rule out both the known and unknown 3rd party driver problems before we start replacing parts (hardware troubleshooting).

Right now the outdated storage controller drivers seem to be the major issue. Also, could you please let us know the firmware revision number that you're using on your SSD?

Will do, i am currently removing the three hard drives so i will report back in a bit.

my ssd is connected to the marvell controller, i will connect it to the intel one

i have also switched the sata cable to the unopened ones from my mobo sata 6gb.

I have downloaded the newset version of intel RST. This is what i downloaded

I ran HD Tune pro on it and did a full error check and it has 0 damaged blocks. And there it is perfroming up to its specifications.

I had time so i ran memtest84+ and i got errors, here is a screen shot my friend.

Memtest errors take precedence over other tests.
Repair the memory errors and see if that stops the BSOD's

I ran a quick test 10 min each per stick. 1 is bad. I also have 3 good sticks which where checked in all 4 dimm slots in the mobo. I was short on time so I tested the 3 sticks together for 30 mins with no errors. I will do a 7 pass run tomorow. Could all of this be faulty ram ? I pray it is so. Corsair has lifetime warranty. I also used a usb boot memtest 86+ v 4.20

Yes it could be due to the bad RAM. In most cases it's the stick that's bad - but it pays to test a known good stick in each of the slots in case any of the slots are bad also.

Start the memory test when you go to bed tonight, that way it'll be most of the way done when you wake up.

I will start the test before bed then. I will report back with the results, how long do do i run it I always see 7 runs, do u have any personal guidelines?

I say run 3 complete passes, but I also recommend overnight because it's more convenient. At work we run 3 passes and then we replace the memory (under warranty). Since I don't think that the boss wants to be losing money on it, I'd expect that 3 passes was sufficient.

Ok ill run 3 but its over night so if it is more than it cannot hurt. I'll report back tomorrow. Have a nice day. And thank you for your help you are a gentleman and a scholar.

Hey, I ran the test over night 8 hours, 5 passes, no errors. I only had one bad ram stick, where do we go from here?
