Windows 8 Batch converting images

Hello.

Once upon a time I had a free program that allowed converting images to quite consistent ones, in batches, via control of white. I've lost it, and now I can't find anything but Adobe Photoshop, unless counting ones that include coding.

It's for my dear Uncle, who makes an effort to scan old pictures. Many old California pictures look like they have been taken on Mars, the Red Planet, and correcting shouldn't be that difficult.

Can anyone give a clue?

Hey Pauli, I use Faststone for batch resizing but it also has a batch conversion functionality. It's free for personal use and has been updated a lot lately with more features and improved Windows 8 compatibility.

Here's a sample I did by reducing the red tones. I intentionally brought the red tones down too low (to -100) for comparison. There's an option to preview the adjustments made.

I tried and tested FastStone, then forwarded the info to my Uncle, together with screenshots I made. As I see it, it should work.

Yeah some people are like that. Will ask where to get a good professional-grade hammer. Then asks where to get super strength nails to hit with it. Or a holster that looks good with it. Or a cleaning agent to make it look good and shiny all the time. Haha.
