Hello,

I'm getting BSOD since I build a computer in august. It was built with factory new parts but I'm aware that a hardware problem is possible too. I tried many "solutions" and reinstalled windows a dozens of time. But I guees the current status of my PC is withdrawable from the attached files.

I don't have all minidump files due to the reinstallation of windows. Moreover I didn't know that I have to configure windows to save the minidump files into the minidump folder.

As you can see the recent bluescreens happened yesterday. As a consequence I updated the BIOS to the latest driver. After that another Bluescreen was triggered with a different error code. After that I tried to play a game and I could play it one hour long without a crash. Since then I dindn't have time to try it out. But I think there's a problem that has to be solved. The bluescreens happened mostly while playing a game.

I hope I provided every information you need.

Regards,
Billy

Solution
Hi,
thank you for the screenshots. I can see a possible issue. If you check the Vcore ( this is the voltage for the chip) it's very high!

Normally your chip runs at around 1.375 - 1.4v or at least should. Also at idle the Vcore should drop to a trickle, something like .800MHz or 1.1GHz.

When you flashed the bios did you immediately apply 'optimized defaults'? If not then boot into the bios and you should be able to find the setting pretty easily as you normally don't have to go far into the bios. It's usually an option listed either on or near the first page of the bios.

Once that's done please run the above app again and take a screenshot of the Vcore settings as well as the 'Core #VID' (near the top).

To be honest if...
Hi Billy,
any news or has the machine been running fine?

Thanks for posting the above.

Well the VID looks like it should and I wonder if the app isn't reporting correctly. The best way to tell what your machine is actually running at is to go into the bios and check the actual settings.

See what these apps say:
Open Hardware Monitor - Core temp, fan speed and voltages in a free software gadget

TechPowerUp

Are you running any other applications yourself as there may be a conflict?

I had the Asus AI Suite installed in order to flash the BIOS. Just deleted it but HWinfo shows the same results.

I tried to start Real Temp but it isn't compatible with the processor.

You'll find the screenshot of Open Hardware Monitor below.

Moreover I'll attach a screenshot of HWMonitor. That's the tool I used in the past.

Excellent thank you.

Well that look's a lot better and as far as i can tell all looks as it should. Perhaps HWiNFO is more suited for Intel systems or was just buggy.

@nmsuk and I were chatting about your issue last night and if your Vcore was actually the figure quoted it's doubtful your system would even boot..

If any issues should reoccur please post back including any new dump files.

Okay, thank you very much your help so far.

I'll post back if I any crashes occur.

Greetings,
Billy
