Firstly i would like to say sorry for not reading the "sticky" threads.

my computer has BSODed on me twice now in two days, my primary hhd failed last week so i bought a SSD to replace it. Could the failure be related to the BSODs?

I was running minecraft and hosting a server at the time- just two of us. an hour or so of it and then it just BSODed on me.

I tried google the error codes in event viewer but i cant really understand what they all mean. Source: kernel-power .... event id:41 .... bugcheckcode:122

sorry about my earlier post and i hope this is better?

Thank you

Hello and welcome to the forums.
Please read the first post in this sticky thread here How to ask for help with a BSOD problem
Do your best to accumulate the data required.
Run the SF Diagnostic tool (download and right click the executable and choose run as administrator)
Download and run CPUz. Use the Windows snipping tool to gather images from all tabs including all slots populated with memory under the SPD tab.
Likewise RAMMon. Export the html report, put everything into a desktop folder that you've created for this purpose, zip it up and attach it to your next post (right click it and choose send to, compressed (zipped) folder.
Good luck
Randy

Re: BSOD please help

Start by updating the following drivers
hamachi.sys 2/19/2009 usually associated with Log Me In. Update, or uninstall, or rename
Rt64win7.sys 2/26/2009 update driver from here Realtek about the fourth one down in the list (Win7 and WinServer 2008 R2 Drirveer 7.048 2011/9/19)
Then uninstall Symantec / Norton by using the program's uninstaller if available in the program directory, if not use the programs and features applet in the control panel and follow that up by running the vendor specific proprietary removal tool. Replace with
Link Removed due to 404 Error
If Blue Screens persist after completing the steps above, please post new .dmp files with your next post.
Regards
Randy

Ok, i check hamatchi and its the latest version on their site...

now i downloaded the file you said but i dont know what to do with it?

You can search for and rename hamachi.sys to hamachi.OLD temporarily and if it proves not to be at issue, simply rename it back to hamachi.sys. Probably in C:\Windows\System32\Drivers but I suppose it could be elsewhere.
now i downloaded the file you said but i dont know what to do with it?
If you are talking about the Realtek driver, that will have come as a .zip file and you'll need to extract it to a folder of your choosing, just make a new folder on your desktop and put it in there and extract it, you'll end up with a Folder called Driver_Win7_7048_09162011.
Now open device manager
click the start orb and type device manager in the search box and hit enter
expand network adapters
right click the realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller and choose properties
Select the driver tab and then click the update driver button then
Browse my computer for driver software
then let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
then the have disk button then
browse again
navigate to the folder where you unzipped the file, open the folder, then the WIN7 folder, then the 64 folder, then double click the rt64win7.inf file OK and next until finished.
Don't forget to uninstall Norton/Symantec since I suspect that it is probably at the root of your issues.

updated! thank you!

right, i will do as you suggest with hamatchi!

the past 2 years of laptop use has been fine with norton? why do you suspect its the route of all EVIL! :p

Oh, I don't know... maybe by googling BSOD + Symantec, or BSOD + Norton, or perhaps by just doing this for a while and watching BSODs resolved by removing Symantec / Norton.
Those two drivers were from February of 2009 which would suggest that they have been on your computer for a while as well. When trying to trouble shoot these types of issues it always best to start with the easy things first. You can always remove MSE and reinstall Norton after you've managed to resolve your current issue. A single BSOD is not a lot to go on and you have to start somewhere.

The dump file suggests memory corruption and possible hardware (disk) involvement. You may want to follow up with a disk check.
Open an elevated command prompt and type
chkdsk C: /R
and hit enter
answer yes "Y" to the prompt and reboot.
Wait for it to finish all five stages and see if it provides you with any additional information.

Hi,

I've just been looking at your dmp file and have noticed it points at the cause being readyboost. If you are indeed using rdyboost can you check the integrity of the flash device as it's reporting back many bad blocks. JUst removing the device would help ruling it out as the cause.

Hi nmsuk! Thank you for your feedback! Unfortunately i am not using readyboost or a flash drive... i just put a SSD drive in and freshly installed windows.

And Trouble, i shall run a disk check... i will not be happy if it tells me my brand new SSD is broken!

Thanks again

EDIT:

I ran a disk check and it just went straight through with no problems or notices.

is the recomended from crucial? i have no idea weather i should or shouldn't update that? or even how to update?

Thanks again

Now I know you're using a SSD, can you disable the defrag and superfetch services and see how it goes. How I missed the part about the replacement ssd in your I don't know so my apologizes.
