I have an Acer Aspire 7741G and for as long as I can remember, I get the BSOD whenever I connect to public wifi. It works fine on my home wireless g network but never on a public wifi provided like my schools internet. Sometimes it will work for 2 minutes and other times it'll blue screen 5 seconds after start up. Specs are:

windows 7 64bit
2.26 GHz i5-430m
4gb DDR3 memory
Acer Nplify 802.11b/g/n
Atheros AR5B93 wireless network adapter
I'm also using Zone Alarm free and AVG free if that makes a difference

Any help?

I do not know if Zone Alarm have fixed their problems with Windows 7, but I stopped using it for that reason.

The Public and Private networks have different settings in the Windows 7 firewall. Perhaps you need to adjust your public network settings.

Zone Alarm turned into bloated up crap and I quit using it a long time ago. AVG is frequently mentiones as a cause in crash dumps.
