I recently just installed a fresh copy of windows 7 64 bit from the Microsoft website.I've gotten two BSOD'S after trying to play a movie in VLC media player.I copied down the information as I know nothing about decoding the bsod's.

Here is what i got from the bsod:

0x000001 (0x0000000000000031,0x0000000000000000,0xFFFFF8802f63180,0x000000000000002)

Any help would be very appreciated, thank you.

To troubleshoot this BSOD error that occurred while using VLC media player, follow these steps:
  1. Update Device Drivers: Ensure that all your device drivers, especially the graphics and sound card drivers, are up to date. Outdated drivers can cause system instability.
  2. Check for Windows Updates: Make sure your Windows 7 system is fully updated with the latest patches and security updates.
  3. Check for VLC Updates: Update VLC media player to the latest version. Sometimes software bugs can trigger system errors.
  4. Run Memory Tests: Use Windows Memory Diagnostic or Memtest86 to check for memory issues.
  5. Check Hardware: Inspect your hardware components for any signs of malfunction, especially RAM, hard drives, and graphics cards.
  6. Review System Logs: Look into the Event Viewer for any critical errors or warnings that might hint at the cause of the BSOD.
  7. Check for Malware: Perform a thorough scan for malware using reliable security software. If the issue persists after performing these steps, you may need to provide more information or seek help from Microsoft support or a tech professional to analyze the dump files for a detailed diagnosis of the BSOD. If you encounter any further issues or need more assistance, feel free to provide additional details.
