Windows 10 Can I switch a motherboard from a laptop to windows do desktop 2002

So to I decided to setup my old pc lol to see if it still work it run fine I always had a interesting building thing and I was just wounding if I can take my laptop apart since it don’t charge no more I have a lenovo window 7 laptop with mace save information on it pretty much I just wanna switch it motherboard to the windows xp

Do you want to remove the motherboard from a laptop and use it for a desktop computer? (this is what I understand from the title)

I think you want to use the motherboard out of the laptop with the pc?

I doubt very much you'd get it to work.
 
Just that I've never heard it done and laptops have such specialised parts but saying that someone may have successfully done it so keep searching.
 
Could it be done? Yeah, would you want to probably not considering as Kemical said the boards are model specific and none of the ports would match up in a desktop case, plus you'd need to drill holes and somehow mount the board in the desktop case which could be difficult and you'd have to rig the power button or solder from the button to the desktop case wiring.
