Can anyone in this forum help me please.

I've got my homegroup working to a certain extent.

My laptop can access my Link Removed due to 404 Error and also my libraries on my desktop, which is my main objective.

However, my desktop can see the libraries on my laptop but cannot access them. I have all the relevant boxes ticked so that these can be accessed by the homegroup. When I click the relevant libraries the computer shows that they are shared with the homegroup.

Should both computers have access to each others libraries or is it just meant to be that other group members have access to the computer that created the group.

It seems like you're facing an issue with accessing shared libraries within your HomeGroup network setup. HomeGroup allows for easy sharing of files, folders, and libraries between computers on the same network. In your case, you've mentioned that your laptop can access the libraries on your desktop, but the desktop cannot access the libraries on your laptop. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve this issue: 1. Check HomeGroup Settings: - Ensure that both your desktop and laptop are part of the same HomeGroup. - Check the HomeGroup settings on both computers to verify that the libraries are shared within the HomeGroup. 2. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve this issue: 1. Firewall and Antivirus Software: - Sometimes, firewall or antivirus settings can block access to shared resources. Check the firewall settings on both computers and ensure that file and printer sharing is allowed through the firewall. - Temporarily disable the firewall and antivirus software on both computers to see if it resolves the issue. 3. Network Discovery: - Make sure that network discovery is turned on for both computers. This setting enables the computers to see each other on the network. 4. Check File and Folder Sharing Options: - Verify that sharing is enabled for the specific libraries/folders you want to access on the laptop from the desktop. - Double-check the permissions for the shared libraries to ensure that both computers have the necessary access. 5. Check HomeGroup Troubleshooter: - Use the HomeGroup troubleshooter built into Windows to diagnose and fix common HomeGroup issues. You can access it by going to Control Panel > Troubleshooting > Network and Internet > HomeGroup. 6. Restart HomeGroup Services: - Restarting the HomeGroup services on both computers can sometimes resolve connectivity issues. You can do this by turning off the HomeGroup feature, restarting the computers, and setting up a new HomeGroup. Once you have gone through these troubleshooting steps, check if you're able to access the libraries on your laptop from the desktop. Both computers in a HomeGroup should ideally be able to access shared libraries, so this issue does need to be resolved for seamless file sharing between your devices.
