I just got windows 7. I downloaded a file. It's sitting on my desktop. I cannot delete it. If I move it to the recycle bin, nothing happens. If I right-click and press "delete" I get an error message that says "the file is no longer located here". It's says the file has 0kb. If I try to rename it, I get stuck in this infinite loop of getting an error message every single time I click on anything. Even after trying to re-download the file, I just get a new version of it on my desktop that works and deletes just fine. How the hell do I get this stupid file off of my desktop?

Solution
I found that Unlocker actually works. The file is history! It couldn't find the file, but it gave you an option on what to do with it, so I chose Delete and it was gone! YES! Thank you to the person who gave that suggestion. :)
Unbelievable. In spite of my previous post, within another halfhour a bad rep point has been given to me, for the same original post, by a member with an obviously juvenile mind.
But go ahead and enjoy yourselves, you are supporting my views!

Do you have a restore point from before you downloaded the file?
If you do try that.
