Hi all, I've got Windows 7 RC 7100, and I'm using Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio audio card, and I'm using camera Acme VMicro it seems it's model is VC0303, so my microphone is veeeeeeery quiet, even in the mixer... I can hear something if I blow very strong in to the microphone. I'm plugged in it to the rear panel, blue jack... There is no bottom called custom in this panel:

And, sorry for bad English
Thanks, dodskis

Solution
It seems like you're facing an issue with a very quiet microphone on your Windows 7 RC 7100 system, specifically with your Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio audio card and the Acme VMicro camera (model VC0303). Here are some troubleshooting steps you can take to address the low microphone volume issue: 1. Check Microphone Settings: - Right-click on the speaker icon in the system tray and select "Recording devices." - Locate your microphone in the list, right-click on it, and select "Properties." - Go to the "Levels" tab and ensure that the microphone volume is set to an appropriate level (usually around 80% should work). - Also, check the "Microphone Boost" option if available—it can increase the input volume of the microphone. 2...

Update Drivers: - Ensure that your drivers for both the Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio and the Acme VMicro camera are up to date. Visit the manufacturer's websites to download and install the latest drivers for both devices. 3. Swap Microphone Jack: - Try plugging the microphone into a different jack on your sound card. Sometimes the front panel mic jacks have better compatibility than the rear panel jacks. 4. Sound Settings: - Check the Windows sound settings to ensure that the correct input device (microphone) is selected. - Right-click the speaker icon, select "Recording devices," and make sure your microphone is set as the default recording device. 5. Hardware Check: - Test the microphone on another device to verify if the issue is with the microphone itself. - Try using a different microphone on your current setup to see if the problem lies with the specific microphone. 6. Use a USB Microphone: - If the issue persists, consider using a USB microphone instead of the traditional microphone jack. USB microphones often have their own built-in amplification and can bypass potential sound card issues. 7. Sound Card Settings: - Install any software that came with your Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio card. It may have specific settings or enhancements that can improve microphone input. 8. Consider a Sound Card Upgrade: - If all else fails, and if using a microphone is critical for you, consider upgrading to a newer sound card that is compatible with Windows 7 and provides better microphone input. Try these steps and see if they help in resolving the low microphone volume concern. Don't worry about the language; we're here to assist you! Let me know if you need further help.
