Hi all, newby poster.
I have Windows7 and running Outlook 2010 on a Toshiba I7 system.
When I open a GoogleGroup post email and try to open a link to one of the posts I see the topic of the post appear in the box adjacent the URL box at the top of the screen but the file doesn't open on the screen. All I get is a white screen below the URL bar and the shortcut icon bar at the bottom of the screen. I have downloaded and run the Uniblue Registry and Tweek software. This made no difference. Wasn't confident it would.
Your help appreciated.
Peter

This issue could be related to browser settings or possibly a conflict with the default browser configuration on your system. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve this issue:

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Check Default Browser:

    []Reconfigure Browser Settings:
    • Try resetting your browser settings to default. This can help in resolving any browser-related issues that may be affecting the links from opening correctly.

    ]Update Browser:
    • Ensure that your browser is up to date. Outdated browsers can sometimes cause compatibility issues with certain websites or applications.
    []Disable Browser Add-ons/Extensions:
    • Some browser add-ons or extensions can interfere with how links are opened. Try disabling any add-ons/extensions and then test if the links open correctly.

    ]Check Security Software Settings:
    • Your security software (antivirus/firewall) might be blocking the opening of links. Check the settings of your security software to ensure that it is not preventing links from opening.
  2. Reset Internet Explorer Settings:
    • Outlook 2010 often relies on Internet Explorer settings. You can reset Internet Explorer settings to default, which might help in resolving the issue.

      Further Recommendations:

    • Avoid Registry Cleaners:
    • Using registry cleaners like Uniblue Registry and Tweek software can sometimes cause more harm than good. It's best to avoid them unless absolutely necessary.
    • Backup Important Data:
    • Before making any major changes to your system settings, ensure you have a backup of your important data to prevent data loss. Try these steps and see if they help resolve the issue with opening links from Google Group post emails in Outlook 2010. Let me know if you need further assistance!
