Windows 10 cant search within files

hi,

im having problems searching within files in win10. ive tried indexing the directory, adding the extension and clicking the search within files tab but it doesnt work. any suggestions?

might try agent-ransack applet (quick and simple) … mike-hawthorne got me interested … been using it ever since. oh, and welcome to windowsforum … happy to have you, ed77.

Hi

I've been using Agent Ransack for many years and many versions of Windows.
It far outperforms the Windows search engine and it's easier to use.

I never even look at Windows search anymore.

Once installed it adds the Agent Ransack search function to the right click menu, so you can just select where you want to search and click on it.

You will be amazed at how much better it works.
It is a small program and you don't have to do any indexing, and it has no performance effects on your computer.
