Hey all,

I am having an odd issue with Win7 RC1 (32 bit). When I try to access the Control Panel items: Display and User Accounts (those are the only two I have found have the issue), I get a single message of "Page Failed To Load" in the middle of where the item contents should be.

Any idea? Maybe I can "repair" some files?

Thanks in advance.

It seems like you are encountering issues with accessing Control Panel items like Display and User Accounts in Windows 7 RC1 (32-bit), where you are seeing a "Page Failed To Load" message instead of the item contents. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this issue:

### Steps to Troubleshoot "Page Failed To Load" Issue in Control Panel:

1. Run System File Checker (SFC) Tool:
- System File Checker (SFC) is a Windows utility that allows users to scan for and restore corrupt Windows system files. You can run this tool to check for any corrupted files that might be causing the issue.

2. Check System for Malware:
- Malware infections can sometimes interfere with system components. Perform a thorough scan of your system using an antivirus program to ensure that there are no malicious software causing the problem.

3. Perform a System Restore:
- If the issue started recently, you can try performing a System Restore to revert your system to a previous state where Control Panel items were working correctly.

4. Check for Windows Updates:
- Make sure that your system is up to date with the latest Windows updates. Sometimes, Microsoft releases patches to fix compatibility issues and bugs that could be causing such problems.

5. Create a New User Account:
- Create a new user account and check if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is specific to your user profile.

6. Check Event Viewer Logs:
- Review the Event Viewer logs for any related error messages or warnings that might provide more insight into what's causing the "Page Failed To Load" error.

7. Check for Third-Party Software Conflicts:
- Some third-party software can conflict with Control Panel functionalities. Try disabling any recently installed software to see if it resolves the issue.

### Additional Tips:
  • Backup Important Data: Before making any significant changes to your system, ensure you have a recent backup of your important data.
  • Compatibility Mode: If you're running an older version of Windows like RC1, consider using compatibility mode when accessing certain features.

Try these steps and let me know if any of them help resolve the issue with accessing Control Panel items in Windows 7 RC1. If you need more detailed guidance on any of the steps, feel free to ask!
