Windows 7 Copy pendrive file to SSD in a system that won't start.

hi and welceom

why wont the pc start?
any error message, beeps .

you would need to acutalyl get onto the system to copy the file over

I believe it won't start due to misconfiguration.
I would probably get access to it, if only I could restore the original settings/permissions of one specific folder.

ok for basic startup fixes

boot from the windows CD

when it loads bottom left corner of the blue screen (where it says install in the middle) click on REPAIR

Click next a couple of times

click on command promt

type as serpate commands (each new line is a new command )

bootrec.exe /fixmbr
bootrec.exe /fixboot
bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd

now restart pc

These commands have not helped at all.
Is there a command line to restore the permissions of a Windows folder?

did the commands complete successfully with no errors

what error message do you get when you boot?

Hi

Something that you might want to look into, though it's kind of a long way around the barn to get to the final goal, is to create a Ubuntu disk.
I've use mine twice in the last week on computers that wouldn't boot.

It would probably take you and hour or so to download and create one.
It's a handy thing to have around.

If you are pretty sure that replacing a specific folder will fix the problem it would work.

The disk has booted every computer I've tried it on and allowed me to access, copy and paste files to and from the computer.

Ubuntu bootable disk download.

If you don't already have it you can use Imgburn to make the disk.

Hope this helps.
