Folders in XP were easy to work with. My preference was for few tool bars, and just a simple arrangement of icons sorted in a way that worked for me. Some folders were big (lots of icons) and some small.

I can’t get this to work in XP. It seems to set all folders the same way. Tool bar in one means tool bars in all. Is there a way to over come this?

In Windows XP, customizing folder views individually could sometimes be a bit tricky, especially when trying to set up different folder arrangements for various folders. Here's how you can try to overcome the issue you're facing: 1. Customizing Individual Folders: - Open the folder that you want to customize. - Adjust the view settings (like icons, arrangement, and toolbars) to your preference. - Go to the "View" menu in the folder window and select "Customize This Folder...". This will lock the folder settings individually. 2. Applying the Settings to Other Folders: - After customizing one folder, go to the "Tools" menu in the folder window and select "Folder Options". - In the "Folder Options" window, go to the "View" tab...

This will apply the current folder view settings to all folders that use the same type of template. By customizing and locking individual folder settings and then applying those settings across other folders, you should be able to maintain different arrangements for different folders in Windows XP. If you encounter any difficulties with this process, feel free to provide more details, and I can assist you further!
