Hello. I would like to know if there is any way to decrease the context menu. I am uploading three images to illustrate what I mean. If I right click on an image or folder (images 1 and 3) you will see that the context menu is huge. The only way I know of to reduce this, is to remove the program. But I need the program, so I get this headache. What I want, is to create a sub menu (as shown in image 2 with 7-Zip). I ask: is there a way to do this? Thank you for your attention.

To simplify and reduce the right-click context menu in Windows, you can use various methods depending on the content you right-click on. Here's how you can achieve a more concise context menu:

1. Registry Edit for Context Menu:

  • Caution: Editing the registry is for advanced users. Proceed with caution and back up your registry before making any changes.
  • Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shell in the Registry Editor.
  • Create a new key under "shell" for your desired program.
  • Add a new key under the program key called "command" and set the default value to the command you want to run.
  • This creates a sub-menu for the program when you right-click on the desktop.

    2. Third-Party Tools:

  • Tools like CCleaner or ShellMenuView can help manage context menu items by enabling you to enable/disable specific entries.
  • These tools provide an easy way to customize your context menu without delving into the registry.

    3. ShellMenuView:

  • Download and use ShellMenuView to enable/disable context menu items quickly.
  • With this tool, you can see all the context menu items and easily toggle their visibility.

    4. Registry Editing Tools:

  • Tools like ShellExView or NirSoft's ShellMenuNew provide a graphical interface to manage context menu items.
  • You can enable, disable, or delete context menu items easily using these tools. By using these methods, you can streamline and reduce the clutter in your right-click context menu, making it more efficient and tailored to your needs. Remember to proceed carefully, especially when making changes to the registry, to avoid any unintended consequences.
