Windows 10 Does not boot to select user screen by default

Hello,

I upgraded my laptop from Windows 7 to Windows 10. My daughter and I share this laptop and each of us have our own user profile to choose on start up.

With Windows 10, the computer boots automatically to my desktop (bypasses the user selection screen) without allowing the person who turned on the laptop to choose which profile they want to use. Once at my desktop, If I then go to the lock screen, it will then give us a choice of users. From there my daughter can choose her profile, but the then it will forever automatically boot to her desktop, etc.

How do I make Windows 10 boot to the user selection screen instead? Currently neither of us are using a password (maybe it needs a password?).

Many Thanks

press [windows key] + [r] and type "netplwiz" (without the quotes) [enter]
put a tick in users must enter username | password and press the [apply]

you set your system up wrong (as windows would have informed you at the time) and yes this will cause issues.
