It seems like you are experiencing issues with video playback on your 42-inch LG TV while playing games on your Windows 8 system. The choppiness you are encountering could be due to various reasons, such as display settings, hardware compatibility, or driver issues.
Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and address the choppy video playback issue on your LG TV:
1. Update Graphics Drivers:
- Make sure that your graphics drivers are up to date. Even though you mentioned that you installed the latest Nvidia drivers, it's worth checking if there are any further updates available.

2. Adjust Display Settings:
- Check the display settings on your Windows 8 system. Ensure that the resolution and refresh rate settings are correctly configured for your LG TV.
- Right-click on the desktop, select "Screen resolution," and verify that the settings match the native resolution of your TV.
3. Graphics Settings:
- In the Nvidia control panel, you can adjust settings related to display output and performance. You might want to check settings that could impact video playback quality.
4. Check Hardware Acceleration:
- Verify that hardware acceleration is enabled in your media player settings and graphic card settings. Hardware acceleration offloads video rendering tasks to the GPU, improving playback performance.
5. Disable Unused Monitors:
- If you have multiple displays connected, try disconnecting the 24-inch Samsung monitor and see if the issue persists with only the LG TV connected.
6. Codecs and Software:
- Since you mentioned using codecs from Shark007, consider checking if there are any conflicts with other codecs or player settings causing the issue. You may also try using a different media player to see if it improves the playback experience.
7. Monitor Resources:
- Check the performance of your system while playing the movie and the game simultaneously. Monitor CPU and GPU usage to see if any resource-intensive processes are affecting playback.
8. Check Game Settings:
- Ensure that the game settings are optimized for performance. Lowering graphics settings in the game might help reduce the load on the system and improve overall performance.
9. Compatibility Mode:
- You can try running the game or video player in compatibility mode for Windows 7 to see if it resolves the choppiness issue.
By following these steps, you should be able to diagnose and potentially resolve the choppiness issue you are facing with video playback on your LG TV while playing games on Windows 8. Let me know if you need further assistance or if you have any other questions!
