Hi,

Got that message after upgrading from Vista Home Premium 64bit to 7 Home Premium 64bit.

The environment is thus.. MacBook Pro as the host. Windows as the virtual machine.

Any suggestions how I can confirm Desktop Manager isn't working and/or solve the problem?

Thanks.

It seems like you are experiencing an issue with Desktop Manager after upgrading from Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit to Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit in a virtual machine environment on your MacBook Pro. To confirm if Desktop Manager isn't working and troubleshoot the problem, you can follow these steps: 1. Check Task Manager: - Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager. - Look for the Desktop Manager process. If it's not listed, it might not be running. 2. Restart Desktop Manager Service: - Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter. - Find the Desktop Window Manager Session Manager service. - Right-click on it, select Restart, and check if the issue persists. 3. Update Graphics Drivers: - Ensure your graphics drivers are up to date. Visit the manufacturer's website to download and install the latest drivers compatible with Windows 7. 4. Check Virtual Machine Settings: - Verify that your virtual machine settings are configured correctly to support the Desktop Manager feature. Ensure that hardware virtualization is enabled in the virtual machine settings. 5. Virtual Machine Tools: - Install the tools provided by the virtual machine software (e.g., VMware Tools, VirtualBox Guest Additions) to enhance the virtual machine's performance and compatibility. 6. Compatibility Mode: - Right-click on the Desktop Manager executable, go to Properties. - Navigate to the Compatibility tab and try running it in compatibility mode for Windows Vista. 7. Reinstall Desktop Manager: - If none of the above steps work, consider reinstalling the Desktop Manager application. By following these steps, you can diagnose and potentially resolve the issue with Desktop Manager not working correctly after the Windows upgrade. Let me know if you need further assistance or if you encounter any specific errors during these steps.
