Windows 10 Find Windows 8 devices in a Windows 10

Hi.
I am currently running Windows 10 on my laptop. Can I find other laptops/devices running with Windows 8 / 8.1 devices using my Microsoft account? Or do I upgrade those first to be found?

Only if these other 8/8.1 PC's are in your local network/homegroup/workgroup.
