So, my mic and headphones aren't working, it shows that they aren't plugged in on the sound options, this isnt a hardware misinstilation, because it works just fine in XP.

Solution
If your microphone and headphones are not working on a Windows system and are showing as "not plugged in" in the sound options, it might be due to a driver issue or a configuration problem. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue: 1. Check Device Manager: - Press Windows + X and select "Device Manager." - Look for any yellow exclamation marks next to your audio devices. If you see any, it indicates an issue with the drivers. - Right-click on the devices with issues and select "Update driver." 2. Update Audio Drivers: - Visit the website of your computer manufacturer or the sound card manufacturer. - Download the latest drivers for your audio devices and install them. 3. Check Sound...

Restart Windows Audio Service: - Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter. - Locate "Windows Audio" service, right-click on it, and select "Restart." 5. Check Audio Ports and Cables: - Ensure that your microphone and headphones are plugged into the correct ports. - Try using different ports to see if there's any change. 6. Run Windows Troubleshooter: - Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot. - Run the "Playing Audio" troubleshooter to identify and fix common audio issues. 7. Disable Audio Enhancements: - Right-click on the sound icon in the taskbar and select "Sounds." - Go to the "Playback" tab, right-click on your audio device, and select "Properties." - In the Properties window, go to the "Enhancements" tab and check "Disable all enhancements." 8. Check Privacy Settings: - Ensure that apps have permission to access your microphone and headphones. Go to Settings > Privacy > Microphone and check the apps allowed to access it. If you have tried the above steps and the issue persists, it's possible that there might be an underlying compatibility issue with the version of Windows you are using (XP). In this case, consider contacting the manufacturer's support or checking online forums for specific compatibility issues between your hardware and the Windows version.
